Soya Keema Recipe | Soya Keema Pav
Soya Keema Recipe is a high-protein and healthy side dish made with Soya Chunks or meal makers. Soya Keema is prepared from dry soya chunks and the masala is a semi-gravy, thick curry that really the flavor of soya really well. Steps For how to make this Soya Keema Recipe:
For Soya Keema Ingredients:
- 150 gm Soya granules
- 1 tbsp Ghee
- 1 tsp Cumin (Jeera)
- 1 no Bay leaf
- 1-inch Cinnamon
- 2-3 nos Green cardamom
- 3-4 nos Cloves
- 3-4 nos Black peppercorn
- 4-5 medium size Onions(chopped)
- 1 tbsp Ginger garlic paste
- 2 tsp Green chilies(chopped)
- 3-4 medium size Tomatoes(chopped)
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Red chili powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander powder
- ¼ tsp Turmeric powder
- 1 tsp Kasuri methi
- 1 tsp Garam masala
- 2 tsp Butter
- 1 tbsp Fresh coriander leaves(chopped)
- 1 inch Ginger(julienned)
- Salt to Taste
For Toasting the Pav Ingredients:
- Pav / Bread
- 1 tsp Butter
- Pinch of Red Chili Powder
- Fresh coriander leaves(chopped)
Soya Granules Boil
Set water for boiling in a vessel, add the soya granules and add a pinch of salt, cook the soya for 2-3 minutes and strain out.
Pass it through cold water and squeeze out the excess moisture, keep it aside for later use.
Set a wok on a medium-high flame, add ghee and oil and the whole spices, and saute the spices for a minute until aromatic. Further, add onions and cook until they turn golden brown in color.
And ginger garlic paste, green chillies and saute it for a minute. Further, add tomatoes and salt to taste.
Add the powdered spices and mix well, add hot water to avoid the masalas from burning, cook until the oil separates.
Add the cooked soya granules, mix well with the masala and cook for 25-30 mins on medium-low heat. The longer you cook the better and more intense the flavor will be. Make sure the ghee should separate from kheema, which indicates the kheema is cooked, if not you need to cook it a bit longer.
Add Kasuri methi, and garam masala, mix well and cook for one more minute. Finish it with butter and freshly chopped coriander leaves, check for seasoning.
Toasting the Pav
Your soya kheema is ready to be served, serve it hot with toasted pav.
Heat about a teaspoon of butter on a griddle. Sprinkle red chilli powder and coriander leaves. Add in the pav/bread and toast well on both sides. Add more butter if necessary. Repeat with the remaining bread.
Serve the keema with toasted pav, and onions. Just enjoyed Soya keema pav !
