Steps For how to make this Shahi Paneer Recipe:
For Shahi Paste Ingredients:
- 1 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp cumin (Jeera)
- 1 no Bay Leaf
- 1 inch. Cinnamon
- 1 no Black Cardamom
- 3 no Green Cardamom
- 2 no Clove
- 2 medium-size Onion Sliced
- 6-7 no Garlic
- 1 inch Ginger
- 4 Medium Tomatoes Chopped
- Coriander Stems a few
- 18-20 no Cashew Nut
- Salt to taste
- 1 tbsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
- ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
Other ingredients
- 500 gms Paneer (Cottage cheese)
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 tbs Oil
- 2 no Chopped Green Chillies
- 1 tsp Kashmiri Red Chilli Powder
- 1 tsp Garam Masala Powder
- 1 tbsp Fresh Cream
- 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
Make the Shahi Paste
Set a wok on medium heat add oil and whole spices, stir once and add onions, stir well and cook 2-3 minutes.
Then add garlic, ginger, tomatoes, coriander stems and saute slightly.
Further add cashew nut, salt, red chilli powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder stir well and cook for 5 minutes.
Add some water and stir well, cover and cook until the tomatoes are completely mashed. Now switch off the flame and cool down the mixture to room temperature, discard the bay leaf, black cardamom and cinnamon once discarded transfer it to a mixer grinder and grind well to make a fine puree and little water while making the puree.
Cook the Shahi Paneer
Heat the oil in a small frying pan and cook the diced paneer, turning it often, until browned on all sides. Transfer shallow fry paneer to a plate. Fry the rest of the paneer and repeat the same process.
Note: If you don’t like fry paneer so avoid it. You can use raw paneer.
Set a wok on medium heat add oil and butter, chopped green chillies and Kashmiri red chilli powder lower the flame and add prepared puree gravy base and stir well.
Add garam masala, Kasuri methi and stir well and cook on low flame for 2-3 minutes. Then add fry paneer and stir well.
Now add fresh cream mix well and cook 1-2 minutes. Serve hot shahi paneer and naan for lunch/dinner.
