Chicken Hariyali

Recipe for chicken hariyali (Hare Masala ka Murgh) is a beautiful curry. Made with a blend of mint and coriander leaves. Easy to cook chicken hariyali recipes is a tangy and tasty recipe for chicken recipes. It tastes with rice, roti or naan.

Steps For Chicken Hariyali-Green Chicken recipe :

For 1st Marination :

  • 500g Chicken
  • ½ Cup Curd
  • 2 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • ½ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • Salt to Taste

Marinate the chicken with the ingredients for 1st marination. Keep it aside for around 30 mins.

For 2nd Marination to be made into a Green Paste :

  • ½ Cup Mint or Pudina Leaves
  • 1 Cup Coriander Leaves
  • 1 Cup Fried Onions
  • 2-3 Nos Green Chilies
  • 10-12 Nos Cashews

Put all the ingredients in a blender. Blend into a smooth green paste for 2nd marination.

Once the chicken is marinated for 30 minutes, marinate the green paste in it. Keep it aside for an hour.

Gravy Ingredients :

  • ¼ Cup Oil
  • 2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • ½ tsp Garam Masala Powder
  • ½ tsp Black Pepper Powder

Take a heavy bottomed pan or kadhai and heat the oil. Add the marinated chicken and fry on high heat for around 5 mins.
Add the rest of marinated chicken masala. Now lower the heat to medium. Cook for around 10 mins or till the green Masala is cooked. Add the coriander powder, cumin powder, garam Masala powder and salt to taste. Mix well and cook covered for around 15 mins.

Now add the black pepper powder and mix it well. Cook again till the chicken is soft and oil separates. Serve hot with rice, roti and naan.
