Achari Paneer

Achari Paneer is mainly made of typically used for making pickles/achars in India. This spicy tangy achar masala brings a unique taste to this recipe. Taste of paneer gravy like pickle masala.

Steps For Achari Paneer Recipe :

For Achari Masala Powder :

  • 1 tbsp Coriander Seeds
  • 1 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Fennel Seeds
  • ½ tsp Mustard Seeds
  • 1/8 tsp Methi Seeds
  • 2 Nos Dry Red Chilli

Take a pan dry roast all achari masala and make a fine powder set aside.

For Marinate Paneer :

  • 250 gm Paneer
  • Salt to Taste

Take Paneer to add salt and little achari masala and gently mix.
Sallow fry marinates Paneer and set aside.

For Achari Masala Gravy :

  • 4tbsp Mustard Oil
  • ½ tsp Kalonji (onion seeds)
  • Ping of Hing(Asafoetida)
  • 1 medium Onion (Chopped)
  • 1 tbsp Ginger- Garlic Paste
  • 2 medium Fresh Tomato Puree
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • ¼ tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Sugar
  • 1/3 Cup Curd

Heat Mustard Oil in a pan.
Add Kalonji (onion seeds)
Add pinch of Hing
Add Chopped Onion and saute until golden.
Add Ginger- Garlic Paste and saute till the raw smell goes away.
Lower the flame and add in the achari masala powder.
Saute till a nice aroma comes out just for 1-2mins.
Pour the tomato puree and saute for a min.
Add Red Chilli Powder, Turmeric Powder, Sugar and salt to taste.
Mix and fry on low heat for 2 mins.
Add Curd mix well with spice masala.
Add a dash of water the masala leaves the pan.
Cook until the masala leaves the pan pour water and make a gravy.

Gravy is boiled and oil on top mix everything well and add fried paneer.
Cook on low heat for 2mins. add fresh coriander leaves and turn off the heat.

Serve hot with Rotis or Paratha
